One of the better bars to go to in Hoboken. I go to this establishment often for either open bars or to watch a live band & I have always have had a great time.
Inside this establishment there is a front bar that runs along the entire right wall with some high tables near it towards the left wall for people to converse & relax. There are two tv's behind this bar so if you want to catch a score to a game they'll have it on for you. The back bar is rather small & also cash only, but it gets the job done as they have plenty of beer selections & drinks to chose from. If you don't have any cash on you (which has happened to me plenty) have no fear as they have an ATM right in the front. Both areas are dimly lit & it gives off that "dive bar/band bar" type of vibe.
Whenever they have a live band there's a $10 cover but it is way worth it. This establishment gets a ton of different types of bands to play on the weekends (LifeSpeed is my favorite) & there's plenty of room in the back area for everyone to jam out & have a great time.
What I really love about this place is their open bars. The open bars are always held in the back area & the doors are closed to the front area for the entire time of the party (usually 8-11). This past November, I set up an open bar for my brother & his fiance for their recent engagement & I could not be happier with how things went. I called the bar a week beforehand letting them know what I was looking for & a manager was able to help me set up a party on the day I needed it with ease. I had to email them of list of people prior to the party so they can make sure that we had enough people to support the open bar party (usually need about 25-30 people). What I was very pleased about it on the day of the event, I had to add some more friends to the list & the management/staff gave me no problems at all & were more than willing to accommodate us. My brother & his fiance had a great time & I was more than happy with how everything went as well.
If you need to throw an open bar or want to catch a solid live band than this is the spot for you! -

Saturday evening my friends and I came to celebrate another's birthday. Parking is a true hassle so definitely get a ride here. Security did their job checking IDs and guiding us in. There was a $10 cover charge. You can find an ATM inside with a $3 surcharge if cash is needed. Towards the back left side you will find a coat check that's only a $2 fee. Cash only accepted in the bar located furthest back. There was a live band playing all evening. Pretty good artists! Crowd was just right. No sloppy drunks laying around or being escorted out. There was a breathalyzer machine that was available for $1. What not better then to blow in a machine before getting behind the wheel! I'll be back to try out their food menu.

Came here for lunch. Had the cheesesteak and Reuben. So good! Kristine is the best bartender ever. THE BEST!!!
P.S. please change the air filter in the fish tank. The fishes are suffering -

Another night a Willie McBrides, another jacket stolen. I live in Hoboken and I go out in Hoboken so I know the bars very well. Willie McBrides is a fun spot but staff doesn't give a shit about customer service. You pay a cover and then you're forgotten about. The bar is crowded and there's no room for anyone. Every time... every damn time something of a friend of mines is stolen. We've had jackets and wallets stolen at Willie McBrides.. wallets from our purse. You'd think they'd stop someone leaving the bar carrying 5 coats right? Nope. An entire section of jackets were stolen last night, at least 5 or 6, just completely gone. For the number of people working the door, you'd think they'd notice someone with a shit ton of coats, or maybe it's the staff taking the jackets? YOU CAN TAKE OUR JACKETS, BUT YOU CANT TAKE OUR FREEDOM.

Drink is good. Ordered Long Trail Ale and it tasted pretty fresh in this summer night. The environment disappointed me a little actually. It didnt look like a Friday night bar. A little boring.
